The Rationale
A major challenge for the Post is to reduce the quantity of uncollected mail it handles on a monthly basis.
Some residents refuse to collect certain correspondence at their local Post Offices, especially bank statements and utility bills.
The Corporation is often blamed for non-delivery of these bills and statements.
The financial cost of returning an uncollected item is more than the cost of delivering a normal letter.
The object of the project is to deliver mail to the homes of residents in rural communities where it is practical to do so.
Other areas will be served by clusters of Community Letter Boxes.

The Marketer's Perspective
"Whether your services has been restored since the hurricanes, bills and statements addressed to you must be collected. Utility companies rely on the Post to deliver these items in a timely manner. To minimize this problem and to ensure that we keep our promise to reach all households in Grenada, we have embarked on a nation-wide rural (house to house) delivery project. We take your bills to your door."

Elements of the Exercise
Mail carriers will deliver mail to the homes of residents daily.
Mail carriers will be monitored for quality of service delivery by a number of methods.
The mail carrier's task is complete upon delivering all mail to the homes of residents.
Stamps will be sold by licensed vendors in the community.
Existing structures will be used as drop-off points for mail to be sorted before physical delivery to homes.
The Mail carrier is not expected to collect mail for posting.
Home-owners with fierce dogs are urged to keep them tied.
Those with fenced property may install (at their expense) receptacles, in a safe and convenient location, to accommodate postal matter addressed to their households.
The corporation will endeavour to provide receptacles at a reasonable (one-off) cost to residents. Alternatively, a family may opt to rent a Private Letter Box from the Corporation.
